SEMINAR KEBANGSAAN MAJLIS DEKAN PENDIDIKAN UNIVERSITI AWAM MALAYSIA 2019

A) Transformasi Teknologi Dalam PdPc Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia
The presentation was delivered by an officer from JPN, Puan Siti, and it is focused on how technology evolves in the teaching and learning process and how it (technology) keeps improving each day.

B) Pembudayaan Sinergi Teknousahawan Dalam Kalangan Pelajar TVET
Presentation was delivered by a speaker/lecturer from UTHM and is focused on the importance of creating a holistic, well-balanced, students with entrepreneurial traits to generate income.

2) Technological advancements mentioned by presenter(s):

The use of web 2.0 (e.g. shifting from FROG VLE to Google Classroom) in the teaching and learning process and also the implementation of flipped classroom in schools. Flipped classroom receives great response from nowadays' students, or better known as the generation alpha because it caters to their needs and interests. 
The other presenter also mentioned on how through TVET, we can produce skilled students who can utilize technology as an enabler for them to improve their learning and working experience. Students who are well-versed with technology will be in ahead in the game as they will be able to use their technological expertise to produce new products,  services, businesses and also incorporate technology in their decision making to generate better outcomes.

3) Implications of the points in terms of teaching and learning in general and specific to future teaching practices:

The implementation of web 2.0 and flipped classroom will definitely be a practical tools in carrying out student-centered learning. It is a practical tool, and easy to conduct too as you can do it from any places at any time. It is accessible (as long as you have internet connection), and would be great for every students who wanted to learn be it in class or outside of class as they won't be restricted by the four walls.  Incorporating technology in teaching and learning process will definitely benefit the students as they can learn new things and develop new skills for themselves which will beneficial for them in the future run. This type of learning will also prepare our students for the current demand in industries all over the world.
But in all honesty, in most area, we still struggle to cater even the most basic needs in every school; which is the overall coverage of wi-fi in the school compound. Moreover, we still need to consider students from rural area and also those from low income family where internet and devices aren't easily attained. But as time goes by, I'm sure that we will be able to overcome these problem, step by step, thus, reducing the digital gap between the rural and urban area.
